We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Farmer's Market Bakery Sales Associate to represent our bakery at local farmer's markets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for picking up baked goods, setting up the booth, engaging with customers, and selling our delicious bakery products. This role requires excellent customer service skills, a passion for baked goods, and the ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment. A reliable car is required for transporting products to and from the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Pickup: Use personal vehicle to collect baked goods from the bakery or designated location prior to market hours.
- Booth Setup: Arrive early to set up the booth, including arranging baked goods, signage, and displays to attract customers.
- Customer Engagement: Greet customers warmly, provide information about products, and answer any questions regarding ingredients, pricing, and preparation.
- Sales Transactions: Process sales transactions accurately using cash, credit, or mobile payment systems, and handle cash responsibly.
- Inventory Management: Monitor product inventory levels throughout the market day and communicate any shortages to the Market Manager.
- Promotional Activities: Promote special offers, seasonal products, and bakery events to encourage sales and customer loyalty.
- Clean-Up: Dismantle the booth and pack up unsold products at the end of the market, ensuring the area is left clean and tidy.
- Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, as well as any market-specific guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in retail, sales, or customer service is a plus, especially in a food or bakery setting.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Physical stamina to lift and carry products, set up displays, and stand for extended periods.
- Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable car for transporting products.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends and early mornings, as required by market schedules.
