Outside Service / Cart Room AttendantPosition Summary
The Outside Service / Cart Room Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional service to members and guests while ensuring the daily operation of the golf cart fleet, bag storage, practice facilities, and staging areas. This position serves as one of the first and last points of contact for members and guests, creating a welcoming and professional experience that reflects the standards of Shadow Valley Country Club.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMember & Guest Service
- Greet all members and guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Clean golf clubs before and after play.
- Provide prompt assistance with member requests.
- Maintain a positive attitude and deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
Cart Operations
- Clean, wash, and detail golf carts after each use.
- Stage golf carts for daily play according to tee sheets.
- Ensure each cart is fully stocked with scorecards, pencils, towels, sand bottles, and any other required amenities.
- Charge electric carts or fuel gas carts as needed.
- Monitor the condition of the cart fleet and report any maintenance issues immediately.
Cart Room & Bag Storage
- Keep the cart barn clean, organized, and safe.
- Maintain an orderly bag room and properly store members' golf bags.
- Assist with inventory and organization of golf equipment and supplies.
- Follow proper procedures for bag handling and storage.
Practice Facility
- Pick and clean range balls.
- Set up and replenish practice balls throughout the day.
- Maintain cleanliness of the driving range, putting green, and short game areas.
- Assist with daily setup and closing of practice facilities.
Tournament & Event Support
- Assist with tournament preparation, cart staging, signage, and player setup.
- Help with golf outings, member events, and club functions as assigned.
- Ensure tournament carts and practice facilities meet club presentation standards.
General Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean appearance of all outside golf operations.
- Follow all club safety policies and operating procedures.
- Work effectively with the Golf Shop staff and other club departments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and professional appearance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
- Previous golf or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of the game of golf is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work outdoors for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
- Ability to operate golf carts and outside service equipment safely.
Schedule
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Part-time and full-time opportunities available.
