We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Mortgage Processor/Underwriter with hands-on experience using Encompass/Laser Pro to join our lending team. The ideal candidate will manage residential loan files from application through closing, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with investor and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Review mortgage loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Process conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loan files
- Communicate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, title companies, and third parties to obtain required documentation
- Maintain and update loan files within Encompass
- Order and review verifications, appraisals, title work, payoffs, and credit documentation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, investor, and company lending guidelines
- Submit complete and accurate files to underwriting
- Review underwriting conditions and coordinate condition collection and clearance
- Monitor loan timelines and proactively manage closing deadlines
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the loan process
Qualifications
- 2+ years of mortgage processing experience preferred
- Strong understanding of residential mortgage lending guidelines and documentation
- Experience processing Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of TRID, RESPA, and general mortgage compliance requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with automated underwriting systems (DU/LP)
- Proficiency with Encompass and/or LaserPro preferred
- Strong time management and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Customer-focused mindset with professionalism and confidentiality
- DE Certified or willing to aquire
