GENERAL SUMMARY:
Working under the direction of the Custodial Manager, the Custodian cleans and services hospitals and office areas in a safe, efficient manner.

15% Sweeps, mops, and wet washed floors. Periodically cleans and/or polishes floors using buffing machines. (E)

15% Vacuums, spot cleans, or shampoos carpets when assigned. (E)

15% Uses floor machines, automatic scrubbers, wall washing equipment, waste collecting equipment, etc. (E)

10% Collects and transports refuse; cleans and relines refuse containers with plastic bags. (E)

10% Washes sinks and other plumbing fixtures and replaces disposables such as paper towels and soap. (E)

10% Dusts, cleans, and polishes furniture including beds. (E)

5% Cleans top of windows, door frames and other high places. (E)

5% Polishes metal or other bright work. Scours glass or enamel fixtures. (E)

5% Changes and cleans venetian blinds and drapes. (E)

10% Strips or scrubs and refinishes floors when assigned. (NE)
EDUCATION:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Six (6) months of custodial experience is preferred.
