Role Overview: First and foremost, we are looking for an exceptional writer. You will become the voice of our organization, completely embracing and embodying the distinct missions of both IFM and the International Board of Functional Medicine Certification (IBFMC).
This is a versatile, high-impact role where you will wear two equally important hats: mission storyteller and conversion-focused product marketer. You will be communicating to an intelligent medical audience, navigating the gravity of healthcare communications, and crafting copy that moves people to action. If you love variety, possess strong digital instincts, and want your writing to have a meaningful global impact, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Write clear, creative, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO)/ Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)-optimized copy for emails, landing pages, digital ads, headlines, and social media, developing core campaign messaging that drives audience engagement and enrollment.
Translate complex ideas from various departments into high-impact content tailored for both sophisticated clinician audiences and the general public, effectively communicating the distinct missions of both IFM and the IBFMC.
Research IFM and IBFMC products deeply to accurately convey persuasive features and benefits that resonate with target audiences, while actively monitoring the competitor landscape to stay ahead of industry trends.
Serve as the final line of defense by reviewing and editing copy submitted by internal teams, contractors, and partners to maintain strict organizational quality standards.
Partner across Marketing, Video, and Email teams to contribute to the development of content strategies and assure alignment of messaging across channels.
Perfect, protect, and maintain the distinct IFM and IBFMC brand voices across all content channels while adhering strictly to voice, tone, style documentation.
Cultivate an editorial style that respects the intelligence and training of a clinical audience while balancing the gravity and compliance demands of healthcare communications.
Partner strategically across the organization to ensure all copy is factually accurate, meets cross-departmental needs, and consistently aligns with established brand guidelines.
Collaborate to help elevate high-level marketing, website, and multimedia content initiatives for both brands, IFM and IBFMC.
Track and execute copywriting workflows and assignments while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines to ensure timely delivery of all assigned deliverables.
Maintain and report on project status within the shared Content Calendar, team dashboards, and team meetings, executing Email Calendar deliverables with high precision to meet target send dates.
Develop impactful website, landing page, and partner microcopy while collaborating with stakeholders to optimize the digital user experience.
Collaborate in the editorial planning and article selection process for campaigns and oversee the content production aspects of article videos based on content audits.
Track copy performance analytically (customer behavior, lead qualification, conversions, and retention) to optimize future messaging, coordinating with external contractors as needed to scale production.
Draft engaging email campaigns, persuasive product descriptions, and high-converting landing page copy that directly drive sales for educational offerings.
Collaborate with team members to build digital assets and informational materials targeted at health-activated consumers.
Tailor complex product messaging dynamically to resonate across different audiences, including individual consumers, institutional partners, and policymakers.
Interview program participants, partners, and field staff to source and write powerful success stories for newsletters, annual impact reports, social media, and the website.
Support the marketing leadership team in expanding our social media presence, shifting seamlessly between promoting paid products and highlighting non-profit advocacy work.
Draft press releases for both IFM and IBFMC to elevate each brand’s global mission.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in communications, public relations, copywriting, or digital marketing. Experience in the health/wellness/nutrition/medical as well as the non-profit arenas is a plus.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
Experience and/or coursework around SEO, AEO, Marketing Writing, and similar
Competence with various digital platforms including MS Office, Asana, and Airtable (or comparable platforms)
Dual-Brain Thinker: Ability to write emotionally resonant stories for donors alongside data-driven, conversion-focused marketing copy about our products.
Project Management: Stellar organizational skills; ability to juggle multiple deadlines without breaking a sweat.
