Position overview
This role is designed for an ambitious early-career professional who wants to build a long-term career in agricultural land brokerage. You will begin by developing deep market knowledge and supporting active assignments, while progressively taking on prospecting, relationship development, client outreach, and transaction responsibilities.
What you’ll work on
Market research
- Identify agricultural land ownership and potential opportunities
- Analyze water resources, irrigation infrastructure, and land characteristics
- Track regional agricultural trends, crop patterns, and land values
Business development
- Identify prospective landowners, investors, operators, and other potential clients
- Conduct consistent outbound outreach, including telephone prospecting and follow-up
- Build and maintain a pipeline of contacts, opportunities, and market intelligence
- Participate in industry events, agricultural organizations, and relationship-building activities
- Learn to develop new assignments and contribute to long-term client relationships
Advisor support
- Work alongside senior advisors to support client objectives
- Provide market insights, including land values, water considerations, and ownership profiles
- Assist in evaluating acquisition and disposition opportunities
Analysis & reporting
- Prepare research summaries, maps, and internal reports
- Support client-facing materials and presentations
- Translate market data into clear, actionable insights
What makes this role different
This is not a back-office position.
You’ll be working directly with experienced advisors on active land assignments, gaining real exposure to how agricultural deals come together—from initial research through execution.
From day one, you’ll receive hands-on mentorship, practical training, and ongoing support as you build the market knowledge, confidence, and business-development skills needed to grow into a successful agricultural land brokerage professional.
You’ll also collaborate with affiliated groups focused on capital markets, development strategy, and land analytics, giving you a broader view of how agricultural land fits into larger investment decisions.
Who this is for
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or related field
- California real estate salesperson license not required at the time of hire; must be obtained within six months of the start date
- Strong interest in agriculture, agricultural investment, and relationship-driven sales
- Competitive, resilient, analytical, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Clear communicator with strong written and verbal skills
- Previous sales, business development, cold-calling, fundraising, recruiting, or customer-outreach experience is strongly valued
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and research tools
