Commodity Specialist Level 1
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire
Pay Rate: $38.58/hour

Job Summary
The Commodity Specialist Level 1 supports the development and execution of commodity acquisition strategies, including procurement activities, supplier management, market analysis, pricing, and product availability. This role works closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support business objectives and develop effective sourcing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, implementation, and administration of commodity acquisition strategies.
- Provide procurement support and assist with commodity business plans.
- Monitor and assess market trends, pricing, supplier capabilities, and product availability.
- Assist in developing negotiation strategies that promote mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.
- Support the identification and evaluation of new, high-potential suppliers.
- Collaborate with internal peers and customers to exchange information and support procurement requirements.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Analyze routine procurement and commodity-related issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Follow established company policies, procedures, and procurement practices.
- Perform assigned responsibilities with moderate oversight and review.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Typically requires little to no previous professional experience.
- Ability to learn and apply professional concepts, procurement practices, and commodity management principles.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Ability to analyze data and resolve routine issues using established procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while following established guidelines.
