About Us: North Bay Produce is an international grower-owned produce cooperative based in Traverse City, MI. With growers located throughout North and South America, we supply top-quality fresh produce to major retailers across the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia. Our MidAmerica Airport Warehouse is a fast-paced facility responsible for both high-volume packaging and distribution operations.
The Role: We are looking for reliable and hardworking Warehouse Associates to join our team. In this role, you will be crucial to keeping our daily operations running smoothly by safely unloading trailers, auditing inventory, and managing product storage.
Please Note: Our facility maintains an optimal storage temperature for fresh produce at 35°F. You must be comfortable working your shift in a cold environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and process incoming produce (unload, accurately label, and safely store).
- Operate warehouse vehicles and equipment (primarily forklifts and pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
- Perform quality checks, report any discrepancies, and assist with inventory audits.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment to optimize space utilization.
- Strictly follow food safety standards and comply with all facility procedures and regulations.
- Communicate effectively and cooperate proactively with supervisors and coworkers.
Requirements & Skills:
- Previous warehouse or forklift experience is highly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate!
- Ability to comfortably and repeatedly lift up to 30+ lbs unassisted.
- Willingness to work in a 35-degree cold-storage environment for the duration of your shift.
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and inventory methods is a plus.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
What We Offer: We are currently hiring for 5 open positions across two different shift schedules. (Please indicate your shift preference when applying!)
- Swing Shift (3 Openings): 4 days a week (Thursday - Sunday), 10 to 12-hour shifts.
- Night Shift (2 Openings): 4 days a week, 10 to 12-hour shifts.
- Pay: Starting $18 (+ $1 Night Shift Differential or $.50 Swing Shift Differential)
