JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Simulation Center Operations, reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Education Operations for Academic Affairs, in collaboration with UT Southwestern (UTSW) academic leaders, the Faculty Director of the Simulation Center, and other key education and clinical faculty, will manage strategy initiatives and continue to promote the national reputation for the Simulation Center. The Director will manage and oversee all finance, administrative, operational, data, and reporting functions for the Simulation Center. Efforts will focus on developing relationships with key simulation experts in our Undergraduate Medical Education Programs, Graduate Medical Education Programs, School of Health Professions, and our Health System to develop and deploy advanced simulation experiences for our learners and faculty. The Director will ensure key stakeholders, internal and external, work closely to advance the strategic priorities of the institution.

UT Southwestern's Simulation Center includes of 49,000 square feet of Virtual Operating Rooms, Emergency Rooms, Intensive Care Units, Obstetrics/Gynecology suite, Robotic Surgery, 20 Standardized patient rooms, Interchangeable high fidelity rooms, laparoscopic training space, classrooms, task training and bench model skills labs, and an engineering and innovations lab.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
Education
Master's Degree MBA in a clinical, educational or scientific area of study or
PhD in a clinical, educational or scientific area of study
Experience
7 years In business or administration in an academic institution or government agency.
With some experience in a medical school and preferably including work or close interaction with an academic health system or hospital
A demonstrated track record of excellence and success in leading and building educational projects or programs. Extraordinary team management ability, including skills in motivation, leadership, mentorship, conflict management, and intervention.

Advance degree(s) in educational based field, with additional business/industry experience preferred.
JOB DUTIES
Uphold the reputation of the Simulation Center on a local and national level.
Develop partnerships and design innovative simulation programs with academic departments, the Health System, and senior leadership.
Partner with UME, GME, and the SHP, to oversee the integration of Simulation Center data with other learner and faculty academic reporting needs for portfolios, outcome based education, or scholarly activities.
Oversee all operational, financial, and administrative responsibilities of the Simulation Center, including strategic investments in new equipment or programs, approval of the budget, invoicing, and billing.
Support the Vice Provost and Senior Associate Dean for Education, Assistant Vice President of Education Operations, Simulation Center Governance committee, the faculty Director of the Simulation Center, the advisory committees, and the curriculum committees.
Ensure compliance and advancement to accreditation standards.
Resolve operational issues raised by business managers on an as needed basis.
Participate in decision-making plans for where/what/how to improve operational performance, enhance outcomes and by cultivating personal relationships with key leaders.
Operational and administrative oversight of the divisions of standardized patients, high fidelity/task simulation, and administration.
Provides project status, information, reports to senior leadership.
Performs other duties as assigned.
