As an Instructional Aide, you play a critical role in keeping our Summer Academy program running with quality and consistency. About the Role
Summer Academy Instructional Aides support a fun, active, and engaging elementary summer program. Your day may include supporting classroom instruction, working with small groups or individual students on their academic work, monitoring recess, and assisting with lunch. This role will stretch you in great ways, and flexibility is essential, as our days often bring changes we adapt to together.
Expectations & Job Duties
- Care for, engage with, and enjoy the summer alongside all students — not just those in your assigned group
- Provide academic support to small groups or individual students, reinforcing lessons and skills
- Assist with serving lunch and supervising students during mealtime
- Monitor and actively supervise students during recess and outdoor play
- Assist staff in maintaining a safe, well-functioning classroom and specialty classes
- Help create a safe, welcoming, and positive classroom/group environment
- Work as a dependable, positive member of a larger staff team
- Creatively problem-solve and help resolve student conflicts in partnership with other teachers
- Complete assigned tasks independently and promptly
- Intentionally build positive relationships with students and their families
- Adapt quickly and flexibly to changing classroom situations
- Collaborate well with supervisors, staff, students, and parents
- Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications
(Any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience)
- Christian Commitment: A demonstrated Christian commitment and relationship with Jesus Christ, and active involvement in a local church
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Prior experience working with or teaching early elementary-age children, or experience in children's ministry
- Licensure/Certification: Successful completion of a DEL background check

Preferred Qualifications
(Any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience)
- CDA credential, coursework toward a degree in Early Childhood Education, teaching experience, or a higher degree

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
