LSB Contracting is seeking experienced Shop Fitters to join our growing fabrication team in Creola, AL. We're looking for craftsmen who take pride in building quality equipment—not just fitting parts together.
This is a full-time shop position with long-term stability and opportunities to learn additional fabrication equipment.
- Pressure vessels
- Process stacks
- Water-cooled ducts and panels
- Structural steel including platforms, ladders and beams
- Tank components
- Nozzles
- Manways
- Miscellaneous fabricated assemblies
We're looking for fitters who can work independently from blueprints and fabrication drawings while producing accurate, quality fit-up.
Ideal candidates will have experience with:
- Structural fitting
- Pipe fitting and fit-up
- Reading fabrication drawings and blueprints
- Layout, measuring and fitting components to tolerance
- Tack welding (MIG or Flux Core)
- Setting up basic welding equipment
- Operating forklifts and overhead cranes
- Using hand torches, plasma cutters, band saws and other metal cutting equipment
- Drilling, tapping and thread identification
- Using tape measures, framing squares, levels, protractors and other measuring tools
Experience operating or willingness to learn:
- Press Brake
- Plate Roll
- Structural Roll
- Ironworker
- Lathe
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent blueprint reading skills
- Ability to solve fit-up issues independently
- High attention to detail
- Pride in producing quality work
- Commitment to safety
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced fabrication shop
Pay: $24-$28/hr DOE (Exceptional candidates with extensive fitting experience may be considered above this range.)
