The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at the Anschutz Campus in Aurora, Colorado provides care for children with congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension and acquired heart disease, serving patients from neonate through adulthood (for adults with congenital heart disease). Cardiac surgeries range from less complex procedures or surgical repairs to high risk, complicated surgeries.

We are currently interviewing candidates who have at least one (1) year of pediatric inpatient, ED, and/or ICU experience and those with at least one (1) year of adult ICU or ED experience.
Responsibilities
The Clinical Nurse (CN) II provides Family-Centered Care as demonstrated by recognizing the patient, family and/or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for patient’s preferences, values, and needs. Assumes active role in clinical education of patients, families and staff. Functions effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care. Integrates best current evidence with clinical expertise for delivery of optimal health care. Uses data to monitor the outcomes of care processes and uses improvement methods to test changes to continuously improve the quality and safety of health care systems. Minimizes risk of harm to patients and providers through both system effectiveness and individual performance. Uses information and technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
Qualifications:
- EDUCATION – Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- EXPERIENCE –One year nursing experience. Candidates with pediatric inpatient, ED, and/or ICU experience, and/or adult ICU or ED experience strongly preferred.
- EQUIVALENCY- Applicants with an Associate's Degree in Nursing and who agree to obtain a BSN within three (3) years from their start/hire date may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s Entry to Practice Nursing (MEPN) may substitute for a BSN.
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S) – Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or RN license from multistate compact; BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least six (6) months left before expiration is required upon hire.
Hours per week: Multiple FTEs available depending on level of relevant experience. Must work 20 hours/week to be eligible for benefits .
Shift: Candidates with no ICU experience will start on rotating shifts for 1 year, then switch to straight nights. Candidates who have ICU experience will start on straight nights, with an option to change to rotating at 1 year.
Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Hourly Range: $38.34 to $57.52
Eligible Incentives:
- Up to $4,400 in relocation benefits (100 mi. or greater) for qualifying positions - amount depends on where you're moving from.
