Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist for to provide assessment and direct services to students with disabilities, including autism, emotional disturbance, and receptive language disorders. May work in a collaborative classroom model as well as deliver individual services to students. The successful candidate will serve as an active member of the students’ educational and therapeutic team, assist in development and implementation of therapeutic intervention and transition plans, maintain contact with local school district representatives and parents and will prepare formal reports as required.
Must hold valid New York State certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). Applicants with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
Previous experience with students with autism and/or expressive/receptive language disorders. Candidates must be highly organized, flexible, and able to work in a multi-disciplinary team and have effective communication and problem solving skills. Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
