Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Travel Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing essential sterilization and instrument processing services across multiple healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of sterile processing procedures, anatomy, and physiology, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and infection control. This position offers the opportunity to work in diverse clinical environments, supporting surgical teams and contributing to optimal patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, sterilize, and process surgical instruments and medical equipment following strict aseptic techniques
- Manage inventory of sterile supplies, ensuring proper stock levels and documentation
- Inspect instruments for damage or wear, ensuring all items meet safety standards before use
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory logs
- Adhere to hospital policies and regulatory guidelines related to sterile processing and infection control
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for procedures
- Follow proper procedures for handling, transportation, and storage of sterile supplies
Qualifications
- Knowledge of sterile processing techniques and infection control protocols
- Familiarity with anatomy and physiology to understand instrument usage and patient safety considerations
- Experience with inventory management systems for tracking supplies and equipment
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to surgical instruments and procedures
- Proficiency in aseptic technique to prevent contamination during sterilization processes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare setting is preferred but not required
- Certification in sterile processing or related fields is a plus but not mandatory
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
