JOB DESCRIPTION Laboratory Analyst
Location: Deer Park, TX
Position Summary:
A leading manufacturer of chemical products is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to perform chemical and physical analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company specifications. This role supports manufacturing operations by providing accurate and timely laboratory testing results.
Essential Functions:
- Promote and support a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible work environment. Follow all safety rules and policies.
- Support the plants Process Safety and Risk Management goals and objectives.
- Perform routine analyses, including control samples and calibration checks, without supervision.
- Strive to continuously improve the quality process.
- Perform unscheduled analyses with minimal guidance from laboratory management. Assist in training as required.
- Participate in site-wide process safety and risk reduction activities as requested.
- Proficiently operate instrumentation such as, analytical balances, spectrometers, TOC analyzers, Karl Fischer titrators, gas chromatographs, and flame AA.
- Must have wet chemistry experience and demonstrate a solid knowledge of various wet chemistry techniques and skill sets.
- Accurately record results, by computer or in writing, for use by Lab and plant personnel.
- Properly maintain all work sheets and applicable control charts.
- Coordinate activities closely with production, loading and utility personnel.
- Analyze samples in a timely manner.
- Practice good housekeeping.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field preferred
- 3-5 years of related experience required
- Laboratory experience will be considered in lieu of education
- Strong understanding of analytical laboratory practices and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Available for off hour emergencies
- Frequent use of hands for handling laboratory tools and equipment
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work in laboratory environments with petroleum or chemical odors within OSHA permissible exposure limits
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required
- Laboratory setting with potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals
Moderate noise environment
- Compliance with all laboratory safety and environmental policies is required
- Pass background check, drug screening and HASC Safety Course required.

Rotating day/nights
4 on/off schedule
Pay Rate:
$29.00 w/shift differential
