We are currently seeking a skilled standby Generator Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Generator Maintenance Technician, you will service a variety of standby generator models and sizes to ensure their optimal performance and reliability.
For the past 20 years, BOLD Electric and Generators has served homeowners and commercial industries throughout New Jersey as a certified dealer for Kohler, Generac, Cummins, and Briggs & Stratton. We service a full line of standby generators to meet all our clients' needs. We continue to increase our client base and have excelled in delivering exceptional customer service to our clients. Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience within a mechanical environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of internal combustion engines and electrical systems
- Ability to read and comprehend technical documents and service manual for diagnostics and troubleshooting repairs
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Understanding of Automatic Transfer Switches (up to 3 phase/ 480 volts)
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Complete and submit work orders and reports
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as required.
Responsibilities
The Generator Maintenance Technician will perform preventative maintenance on a variety of standby generator models and sizes, a key responsibility that includes oil and filter changes, fuel filter changes, and cooling system services to ensure their optimal performance and reliability. This includes the ability to troubleshoot and repair both natural gas and diesel engines, as well as diagnose issues with electrical circuit boards. Furthermore, the technician will interact directly with customers, complete and submit work orders and reports, maintain truck inventory, and prepare accurate repair quotes.
Generator Maintenance Technicians will also be responsible for providing troubleshooting and maintenance on generators in response to emergency calls. This responsibility will be assigned on rotating basis with other generator maintenance team members.
