Decorah Middle School is seeking a 7th-grade volleyball coach for the 2026-2027 season.
Schedule B Placement: Level E (Step 1 = $2,153 on the 2025-26 Supplemental Salary Schedule)
Job Qualifications

Basic knowledge of volleyball and coaching principles to promote a sound 7th grade volleyball program with an emphasis on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Valid Iowa Coach Endorsement and/or Authorization as established by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.

Essential Job Functions:

Adhere to and promote coaching standards established by the Decorah Middle School Activities Department, including all regulations set forth by the Iowa High School Athletic Association.

Provide leadership and instruction to players on all aspects of managing the 7th grade volleyball program.

Enforce appropriate rules and regulations for the supervision of the 7th grade volleyball team.

Manage communication with athletes and parents involved in the 7th grade volleyball program.

Develop practice schedules that meet the needs of 7th grade players in coordination with available facilities.

Possess basic knowledge of lineup development for games.

Maintain equipment and supplies needed for the 7th grade volleyball program.

Instruct coaching staff and players on proper equipment use and care.

Provide supervision of students using facilities on and off-campus.

Maintain records for team members at the start of the season and prepare end-of-season reports for the activities department.

Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Middle School Activities Director and/or Principal.
