American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring prior ICU experience with crani and EVD management, and current WI or compact RN licensure.
-
Work in the Neuro ICU at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
-
Care for ICU and IMC patient populations
-
Night shift, 4x12 hours, 1900-0730
-
Every other weekend required
-
Some holiday coverage required
-
Floating required as needed
-
Uses Epic EMR
-
Active WI or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)

Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
-
Prior ICU experience required, Neurosurgery experience preferred
-
Prior travel experience required, specifically with craniotomy and EVD management (hardstop requirement)
-
Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Trauma Level I experience preferred
-
Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation with strict passing criteria

Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, PICC line management, and blood product administration
-
Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
-
Skilled in continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
-
Skilled in CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care
-
Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
-
Experience with infection prevention practices and isolation precautions/PPE

Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological and neurosurgical patients, including crani and EVD cases
-
Facility is a Magnet-designated hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital and a leading teaching and referral center
-
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
