Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented seamstress to join our drapery workroom team. This role requires proficiency in operating sewing machines and a keen eye for detail. If you have excellent communication skills, basic math understanding and a passion for sewing, we would love to hear from you. We will teach you our processes to fabricate high-end, quality custom window treatments.
Responsibilities
- Math skills including working with fractions and basic equations using a calculator
- Measuring and cutting accurately
- Constructing all styles of window treatments, pillows and cushions
- Operating sewing machines, including straight stitch machines, walking-foot machine, serger and blind hemmer
- Maintaining attention to details to ensure our high-quality standards
- Communicating effectively with team members
- Keeping our work area organized and adhering to safety standards
Experience
- Sewing experience is a must, but it does not need to be in window treatments - we will teach you!
- Familiarity with various types of fabrics and their properties is advantageous
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ablility to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow instructions, learn our procedures and apply that knowledge to future projects
This job is perfect for someone looking to get into the window treatment business and learning its possibilities. It is part-time but could grow into full-time work. Depending on your abilities there is room for growth and opportunities at Accent Custom Drapery LLC!
