Clinical Dietician – Expert Level

We are seeking an experienced, Pennsylvania-licensed Clinical Dietician to help coordinate therapeutic nutrition services, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Compensation Options
- Tier 1 (W-2 employee, benefits eligible): $43/HR
- Tier 2 (W-2 employee, non-benefits eligible): $47/HR
- 1099 Independent Contractor: $50/HR

Independent contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and other applicable obligations.
Expert Level
The resource is recognized as an expert in clinical nutrition and dietetic services. The resource can provide guidance, troubleshoot issues, and answer questions related to therapeutic diets, nutritional care, food service operations, and the applicable field of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, inspect, and evaluate the therapeutic diet program while maintaining HIPAA standards.
- Support the goals and objectives of the Dietary Department or Food Services Division and integrate dietary services with clinical and support departments.
- Integrate the nutritional program into the overall dietetic program.
- Complete and maintain dietary assessments and reassessments.
- Document progress notes in medical records according to established standards.
- Communicate with nursing staff regarding nutritional concerns, including tube feedings, diabetes, and weight changes.
- Chart residents’ nutritional progress every 90 days, or more frequently when medically necessary, and notify physicians of relevant changes.
- Plan and modify standard and therapeutic menus based on physician prescriptions, nutritional standards, cost, variety, and quality.
- Write and review nutritional care plans consistent with physician orders.
- Guide lower-level dietetic staff in providing appropriate nutritional care.
- Instruct cooks and food service workers on special-diet food preparation.
- Apply therapeutic diet methods, food-safety and sanitation standards, and special-diet tray assembly procedures.
- Consult with speech pathologists and other medical professionals as needed.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care-plan meetings and provide in-service training to dietary and allied-health staff as needed.
- Complete nutritional discharge plans and provide instructions to residents receiving therapeutic diets before discharge.
- Provide nutritional assessments, guidance, and recommendations to medical and food service staff in coordination with the Bureau of Healthcare Services Food Service Division.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must:
- Hold a completed baccalaureate degree from a U.S. regionally accredited college or university, or its foreign equivalent.
- Have met academic requirements accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetic Association.
- Have completed a supervised practice program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetic Association.
- Have successfully completed the Registration Examination for Dietitians.
- Be compliant with Professional Development Portfolio recertification requirements.
- Hold a current license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Be able to work independently at an advanced professional level.
- Have clinical nutrition experience; such experience is recommended.

Pay: $43.00 - $50.00 per hour
