American Howa Kentucky, Inc. is seeking a full-time Production Team Leader.
Support and assist Production Supervisor on the production lines to lead team members on safety, production of quality parts, on time, the first time to meet or exceed customer requirements, while supporting the policies and standard operation procedures of AHK.
Essential Functions:
- Train employees and monitor adherence to standardized work in assigned areas
- Maintain training records for assigned area
- Comprehend the production targets set for their team members and effectively communicate these targets to the team members
- Assist Supervisor in monitoring the daily tasks and work completed by their team to ensure meeting or exceeding the KPS’s of the production department.
- Ensure coverage for assigned area with assistance from supervisor
- Assist Supervisor during pre-shift and change over meetings
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and report to proper management timely
- Develop improvement action items
- Maintain good housekeeping (5S) in assigned areas
- Follow all plant safety policies and procedures
- Enforce and assist in the compliance of rules, set-up and preparation of daily shift
- Work in a team environment, inside the plant facility
- Assist and support in implementation of new launch programs
- Assist and work to ensure new hires and transition team members go through SOP and work directly with trained personnel
- Assist and support continuous improvement and learn manufacturing processes
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment
- Level 4 on all SOPs and the ability to train, guide and communicate to new operators
- Previous mentoring, training or leadership ability or desire to achieve
- Valid KY driver’s license or ability to obtain with 30 days
- Forklift License or ability to attain within 30 days
- Must be task-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task with accuracy
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet departmental and team members’ needs
- Ability to work in a team environment and have the ability to positively communicate with team members
- Knowledge of calculator and computer applications.
- Good working knowledge of assembly lines and operations
- Work in a confidential manner with AHK information or assignments
- Work each day inside of manufacturing facility
- Other duties as assigned
Physical and Position Requirements:
- Work activities will include lifting 50 pounds or more frequently.
- Standing, stooping, bending, walking, twisting majority of shift each daily
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
- Understand the operations of all equipment, including forklifts, heavy machinery in their work area
- Achieve a score of 90% or higher on AHK’s Quality Inspection Test
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- Other skills commensurate of position of lead.
Shift:
3rd shift (1) - Sunday - Thursday 10:00pm - 6:30am (overtime and weekends are required)
1st shift (1) - Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm (overtime and weekends are required).
