Floor Manager Front of House – Midway Diner
The Front of House Manager is responsible for leading the guest experience at Midway Diner by creating a culture centered around hospitality, teamwork, and exceptional service. This role oversees daily FOH operations, supports and develops the service team, and ensures every guest and staff member feels welcomed, valued, and cared for from the moment they walk through the door. The FOH Manager leads by example, staying visible on the floor and taking ownership of the overall guest experience. This role reports to the Head of Culinary and Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate hospitality in every interaction with guests, staff, and anyone entering the restaurant.
- Lead by example by creating a positive, welcoming, and guest-focused environment.
- Oversee daily FOH operations, including opening, closing, floor management, and service execution.
- Complete restaurant walkthroughs to ensure dining rooms, bathrooms, bar, and patio meet Midway Diner standards.
- Review reservations, proof POS systems, check ambiance, and ensure the restaurant is prepared for service.
- Support and coach FOH team members to deliver exceptional hospitality and maintain service standards.
- Work closely with hosts, bartenders, servers, and BOH to monitor guest experiences and ensure smooth service flow.
- Proactively address guest concerns and handle service recovery with professionalism and care.
- Engage with guests, anticipate needs, and ensure every guest leaves feeling valued.
- Support the team during busy periods by running food, clearing tables, resetting sections, and assisting wherever needed.
- Coordinate staff breaks, maintain proper floor coverage, and provide guidance and support to team members.
- Handle basic POS issues, cash tills, and end-of-shift reconciliation.
- Complete shift communication, document incidents, and communicate operational needs to the Operations Manager.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment while holding the team accountable to Midway Diner’s hospitality standards.
Skills & Knowledge
- Previous restaurant leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to stay calm and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Comfortable coaching and motivating team members.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
