Boeing Commercial Airplanes is hiring an Mid-Level Automation and Robotic Programmer to support a position on our Production Engineering team in Everett, WA. A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out in the factory, interacting with mechanics, safety, and equipment services, and directly supporting the production system.
In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity. Candidates should possess knowledge and technical expertise with ABB RobotStudio, ABB robots, KUKA robots, Fanuc robots, etc., automation control systems, design, machining, and robot cell programming.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides numerical control, machining and programming technical experience.
- Establishes technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility.
- Plans, creates, verifies and revises Machine Control Data (MCD), geometry and documentation that directs the operations for a complete spectrum of numerically controlled equipment required to manufacture and inspect parts, tools and assemblies for departmental work.
- Plans and guides the development and integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods, processes, software and equipment.
- Works under general direction.
Required Skills:
- Experience with high-speed machining in a production environment
- Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings
- 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Mid-Level)
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience as machinist/robotics with shop floor programming skills
- Experience in CAD/CAM software (preferred CATIA, Vericut simulation, MasterCAM, Robot Studio, CENIT, etc )
- Certification or training in automation or robotics
- Experience working in a production environment
- Experience with 3D modeling
