Position Summary: The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will lead product sustainment efforts by implementing design improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Provide technical support for existing products, maintain design and test documentation, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, support continuous improvement initiatives, and assist with new product development as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead sustaining projects by identifying opportunities for design enhancements and implement changes to optimize product functionality and manufacturability.
- Provide technical support for the current product line, addressing issues and implementing solutions to improve performance and reliability.
- Maintain detailed documentation of design changes, test results, and product specifications.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer support, to ensure seamless product sustainment.
- Ensure all product modifications comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct testing and validation of design changes to ensure they meet performance and safety criteria.
- Maintains an understanding of all current manufacturing processes.
- Support new product development projects, when needed.
- Actively participates in continuous improvement activities including but not limited to Kaizen and 5S events, Problem Solving Process, Value Stream Mapping, and Transaction Process Improvement.
- Effectively collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures including safety and quality.
- Travels up to 10% domestically and internationally.
