Job Description:
The Water Mitigation Technician is responsible for responding to emergency water losses and performing professional water extraction and structural drying services. This position plays a critical role in preventing further property damage and ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with industry standards.
This individual will respond to emergency calls, assess affected areas, extract standing water, set up and monitor drying equipment, and document moisture readings throughout the mitigation process. The Water Technician must be organized, detail oriented, and capable of working in fast paced environments while maintaining clear communication with the Mitigation Manager and clients.
Daily tasks may include performing water extraction, removing baseboards or flooring materials as needed, setting air movers and dehumidifiers, taking and documenting moisture readings, performing daily monitoring visits, adjusting drying equipment, cleaning and maintaining mitigation equipment, loading and unloading vehicles, and ensuring job sites remain clean and professional. Proper documentation of job progress including photos, notes, and moisture logs is required.
This position reports directly to the Mitigation Manager and will require routine travel throughout the company’s service area. After hours and weekend emergency response may be required on an as needed basis.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalent Degree Required
- 1+ Year Water Mitigation or Construction Experience Preferred
- Ability to work in emergency response situations
- Strong understanding of drying equipment including air movers and dehumidifiers
- Ability to take accurate moisture readings and document findings
- Must be highly organized, punctual, and self directed
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients
- Must have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must be available Monday-Friday from 6:30am-2:30pm
- Must be willing to work an after hours on call schedule
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work during 90 day probationary period
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs, climb ladders, work in attics or crawlspaces, and handle outdoor weather conditions
Skills desired but not required:
- IICRC WRT Certification
- IICRC ASD Certification
- Experience with insurance claims documentation
- Basic demolition skills
- Mold remediation experience
- Bilingual in English/Spanish (not required)
