- Anticipate the doctor's needs during surgery to support efficient, high-quality patient care.
- Prepare patients for treatment by reviewing medical histories, obtaining necessary records, and ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
- Provide compassionate chairside support before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Take digital radiographs, photographs, impressions, and scans as needed.
- Educate patients on post-operative instructions, home care, medications, and follow-up appointments.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout treatment.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using our dental practice management software.
- Manage instruments, supplies, and operatories to ensure the clinical area remains organized, fully stocked, and ready for patient care.
- Collaborate closely with the administrative team and referring dental offices to support a seamless patient experience.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful team culture focused on continuous improvement and exceptional patient care.
Qualifications
- Dental assisting experience required; periodontal, oral surgery, or surgical assisting experience is strongly preferred.
- Current dental assisting credentials as required by state regulations.
- Experience with Dentrix or other dental practice management software is a plus.
- Knowledge of dental radiography and infection control protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a calm, reassuring chairside manner.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to multitask in a surgical environment.
