Position Summary
- We are seeking a CAD Drafter / Project Support Specialist to support facility and engineering projects through the development and maintenance of AutoCAD drawings, field verification, project documentation, and project coordination activities.The ideal candidate will have hands-on AutoCAD drafting experience, preferably involving facility layouts, floor plans, equipment layouts, or as-built drawings. This position will work closely with the Project Manager and project stakeholders to ensure drawings, records, schedules, and supporting documentation remain accurate and current.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, revise, and maintain AutoCAD facility drawings, layouts, floor plans, and related project documentation.
- Update existing CAD drawings to reflect facility modifications, equipment changes, and completed project work.
- Perform field verification and measurements to confirm existing conditions and ensure drawings accurately reflect the facility.
- Convert legacy, paper-based, and antiquated facility records into organized digital drawings and documentation.
- Maintain drawing files, revisions, document control, and electronic project records.
- Support the Project Manager with project documentation, procedures, schedules, and coordination activities.
- Track project progress and assist with maintaining project schedules, action items, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with contractors and internal teams during project start-up and implementation activities.
- Collect and organize project data and ensure drawings and supporting documentation remain current.
- Develop and update project procedures, work instructions, spreadsheets, reports, and correspondence.
- Maintain organized project databases, electronic filing systems, and technical documentation.
- Assist with resolving drawing, documentation, and coordination discrepancies identified during project execution.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting, documentation, and project processes.
- Qualifications
- Experience using AutoCAD for 2D drafting and drawing revisions.
- Ability to read, interpret, create, and modify technical or facility drawings.
- Experience with facility layouts, floor plans, equipment layouts, as-built drawings, or engineering documentation preferred.
- Comfortable performing field verification and translating existing conditions into accurate CAD drawings.
- Strong document control, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with Project Managers, engineers, facilities personnel, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other standard business applications.
- Ability to manage multiple drawing revisions, documentation requirements, and project priorities simultaneously.
- US Citizenship required due to ITAR restrictions
Preferred Background
Candidates with experience as a CAD Drafter, AutoCAD Technician, Facilities Drafter, Engineering Technician, Design Drafter, or Project CAD Coordinator would align well with this position.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
