Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electrical Power Engineer to join our engineering team within the energy sector. This role involves designing, analyzing, and managing high-voltage electrical systems and power distribution networks to ensure reliable and efficient energy delivery. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in power system design, system analysis, and project management, with a strong understanding of electrical codes and standards such as NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and IEEE standards. Duties
- The Utility Engineer is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and cost‑effective operation of generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
- This role involves assisting with engineering design, construction, maintenance, and operations of power plants, substations, gas systems, and control centers, while ensuring continuous monitoring of energy flow and responding to system disturbances under supervision.
- System Operations: Support round‑the‑clock operation of generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
- Engineering Support: Assist in design, construction, maintenance, and operations of power plants, substations, and gas systems.
- Energy Monitoring: Help monitor and balance energy flow; respond to system disturbances.
- Process Development: Contribute to internal work processes and project improvement initiatives.
- Information Gathering: Collect and provide technical data for internal and external stakeholders.
- Professional Development: Attend seminars and continuing education opportunities.
- Collaboration: Work in a team environment, coordinating with related areas to complete tasks.
- Documentation: Assist with technical writing, reporting, and maintaining records.
MUST HAVE:
- Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, or related engineering discipline)
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, engineering calculations, and problem-solving methodologies
- Experience through internships, co-ops, academic projects, or employment supporting engineering projects is highly preferred
- Exposure to utilities, power systems, transmission, distribution, substations, power plants, energy systems, or infrastructure projects is a strong advantage Candidate should have strong technical communication and documentation skills
- Must be comfortable working with multiple departments and supporting engineering process improvements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required
Shift Timing: 8 AM-5 PM
Weekly schedule: M-F

Pay: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour
