Power Systems & Controls is a Richmond-based manufacturer that has been designing, manufacturing, and servicing power quality solutions since 1965. We support commercial, industrial, and government customers with power conditioning equipment, UPS systems, frequency converters, tactical shelters, and custom power solutions.
Position Summary
Power Systems & Controls is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our Business Office and project operations.
This role is ideal for someone who is organized, accurate with data entry, comfortable using Microsoft Office, and able to manage a variety of daily office tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Administrative Assistant will help keep projects, paperwork, records, and internal office processes moving accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Use the company ERP system to support daily business office and project activity.
- Enter new projects and prepare job books.
- Process material transfers for projects and internal accounts.
- Update cost sheets and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Prepare labels for projects, products, and internal needs.
- Scan, file, and organize purchase orders, cost folders, and closed-job documentation.
- Assist with expense reports, payment processing, billing, payroll support, and purchasing-related tasks.
- Provide backup phone and receptionist coverage as needed.
- Support employee engagement activities and distribute company apparel/items as needed.
- Complete occasional local pickups or errands when required.
- Assist with other administrative tasks that support the Business Office, production, and project teams.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required due to government contract/customer requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for occasional local pickups.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Accurate data entry and word processing skills.
- 10-key experience preferred.
- Filing, scanning, and document organization experience preferred.
- ERP system experience is a plus, but training may be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented and willing to support multiple departments.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree is a plus but not required.

Work Environment
This is a full-time, in-person position based in Henrico, Virginia. The role supports a manufacturing business office and requires someone who can stay organized while handling shifting priorities throughout the day.
