Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
- Handle chemical agents safely and in accordance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines to ensure a secure working environment
- Conduct floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to maintain pristine surfaces
- Sanitize high-touch surfaces regularly to support infection prevention and control protocols in healthcare or similar environments
- Manage manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies or equipment using safe lifting practices to prevent injury
- Maintain cleanliness standards by following established procedures for waste disposal and sanitation practices
- Document cleaning activities accurately and report maintenance issues promptly to ensure continuous facility safety
Qualifications
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare or commercial settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to chemical handling, manual handling, and environmental services is essential
- Experience with hospital or healthcare infection prevention protocols is a strong advantage
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to safe lifting practices during daily tasks
- Familiarity with floor care techniques and sanitation procedures required for maintaining hygiene standards
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to ensure all areas meet cleanliness requirements
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
