Shift: Tuesday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Role Overview
BEPC is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to support manufacturing, research and development, and office facilities in Liberty, SC. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems and related equipment.
The ideal candidate will have strong HVAC/R maintenance experience within an industrial or commercial environment and possess the technical expertise necessary to support critical facility operations while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
- Service and maintain environmental chambers, incubators, stability chambers, air dryers, chillers, boilers, freezers, refrigerators, and ice machines.
- Install, replace, and repair HVAC/R components including motors, compressors, pumps, fans, valves, actuators, belts, bearings, seals, and gaskets.
- Perform brazing and soldering on heating and cooling coils and refrigeration systems.
- Utilize gauges, leak detectors, torque wrenches, multimeters, amp meters, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Interpret HVAC/R control systems and control theory for commercial and industrial applications.
- Order replacement parts and materials as needed.
- Support GMP compliance and adhere to all company safety procedures and standards.
- Maintain maintenance records and support CMMS-related activities.
- Collaborate with production and facility teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimize operational disruptions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial or industrial HVAC/R maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency troubleshooting and repairing HVAC/R equipment and systems.
- Experience working with chillers, boilers, compressors, pumps, air handlers, refrigeration systems, and related equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and maintenance procedures.
- Experience utilizing diagnostic and testing equipment.
- Strong understanding of HVAC/R control systems and mechanical operations.
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of safety practices within industrial environments.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Certification for refrigerant recovery and handling.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience working with GMP-regulated facilities.
- Knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance documentation processes.
- Multi-craft maintenance experience including mechanical, pipefitting, or building maintenance.
