JOB
The purpose of this position is to coordinate assigned services for the Department, including providing administrative support for assigned functions; and assisting with budget-related functions.
This position is responsible for workers’ compensation and property and liability claims to the county’s insurance carrier, reconciling billing and invoices, entering and processing requisitions, archiving records, and compiling reports.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Serve as the point of contact on workers’ compensation claims and submit required documentation and information to county’s insurance carrier

Serve as the point of contact for property and liability claims and submit required documentation and information to county’s insurance carrier

Assist with employee training on various safety-related topics

Trains and instructs new employees, supervisors and department heads on Georgia Workers’ Compensation laws and Employee Bill of Rights, in accordance with Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation rules and regulations, as needed

Handle incoming communications for the department, maintain assigned databases and records, and provide administrative support for assigned functions

Assist with budget-related functions, including reconciling bills and invoices, processing requisitions, etc.

Provide administrative support for the director, as needed

Complete reports and statistical information and submit to the director

Attend training and industry events to keep abreast of current trends, legislation, etc.

Performs other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal employment and benefits regulations, and governmental compliance requirements.

Excellent administrative and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Requires mental acuity including the ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, the ability to express ideas by means of the spoken word and have close visual acuity. Work is typically performed in an office setting or in a classroom/meeting room setting. Site visits to county-owned buildings and properties and to work sites in the field will be required. Work in the field / outdoors to assist with and/or to lead employee training will be required.
