Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Critical Care with 2+ years of recent acute care experience and at least one travel contract assignment. The ideal candidate must have experience intubating patients and be proficient in all aspects of respiratory care, including airway management, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, Vapotherm, nebulizer treatments, ABG collection, bedside pulmonary function testing (PFTs), and chest physiotherapy (CPT). In the ICU, the RRT will manage arterial lines, interpret blood gases, assist with bronchoscopies, and provide respiratory support for critically ill patients with conditions such as COPD, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, ARDS, and various cancers. Candidates should possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced critical care environment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care to critically ill patients, including airway management, intubation, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, Vapotherm, and nebulizer treatments.
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis, manage arterial lines, assist with bronchoscopies, and conduct bedside pulmonary function tests (PFTs) and chest physiotherapy (CPT).
- Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions such as COPD, CHF, pneumonia, ARDS, respiratory failure, and other critical illnesses.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans while responding promptly to emergencies.
- Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, ventilator settings, and clinical responses in the EMR while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and respiratory care standards.
Skills:
- Strong critical care respiratory therapy skills, including intubation, airway management, ventilator management, and advanced life support.
- Proficient in BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, nebulizer treatments, ABG collection and interpretation, bedside PFTs, and chest physiotherapy (CPT).
- Experienced in caring for critically ill patients with COPD, CHF, pneumonia, ARDS, respiratory failure, and other complex pulmonary conditions.
- Excellent critical thinking, rapid decision-making, and emergency response skills in a fast-paced ICU and acute care environment.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Requirements:
- RRT, GA state license
- BLS, ACLS, PALS Certified through AHA
