American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring at least 2 years of MS/Tele experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Short-term acute care hospital setting with 418 staffed beds
-
MS/Tele unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
-
Patient population includes bariatric surgery, renal failure, cardiac monitoring, respiratory care, and general med/surg telemetry cases
-
Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call required
-
Floating between sister facilities within the state is expected and required; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment

Possible float destinations include facilities in Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent

Charting via Epic (required)

No-fee parking on site

A personal vehicle is required for this assignment

Active OR RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele RN experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered

Epic EMR experience required

Required clinical skills include: IV therapy and phlebotomy, accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), vasoactive drip management (no titration), HFNC and oxygen administration, tracheostomy care, telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation, wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and isolation precautions/PPE

Preferred skills include PCA management and surgical drain care

Must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem) during the consideration process

Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required prior to start

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Candidates must not have a background check (Nursys or BG) hit on record
-
Responsibilities include care of MS/Tele patients with conditions such as renal failure, bariatric surgery recovery, cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and wound management
-
Additional daily duties include early mobilization and CHG baths
-
No orientation hours (non-billable orientation is 0 hours vs. the standard 40 hours)

Non-billable onboarding modules are completed prior to start and annually
-
Scrubs of any color are acceptable for this unit
-
Holiday coverage is required; candidates must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day

All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted up front; post-offer RTO may not be approved

Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are accepted, though local candidates may be subject to a different pay rate
-
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler, and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
