American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience and ARDMS or CCI Echocardiography certification for a cardiovascular non-invasive department.

Work in the Cardiovascular Non-Invasive department performing echocardiographic studies
-
Adult and pediatric patient population
-
Performs two-dimensional ultrasound studies of the heart and great vessels, EKG monitoring, and arrhythmia identification
-
Assists with exercise and non-exercise stress testing, including dobutamine and pharmacological cardiolite stress echocardiograms
-
Assists cardiologists with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
-
Participates in mobile echo/vascular services regionally
-
Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts with start times between 6:45 AM and 7:30 AM

Rotating weekend and holiday shifts required
-
Participates in callback/on-call rotation
-
May float to other Carle Health facilities including Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Pekin Hospital, and Proctor Hospital

Minimum of 3 years of applicable echocardiography experience

Associate's Degree in Ultrasound required

ARDMS or CCI certification in Echocardiography required

BLS certification required (American Heart Association)

License required if applicable

Knowledge of gross and sectional anatomy required
-
Proficient in recognizing cardiac structural and functional abnormalities and imaging artifacts
-
Skilled in patient positioning, breathing techniques, and transducer positioning for optimal cardiac imaging
-
Proficient with ultrasound equipment, software-driven testing machines, and digital archive systems
-
Basic computer proficiency including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsers
-
Fluent in English (written and verbal)
-
Performs comprehensive echocardiographic imaging using parasternal, apical, subcostal, and suprasternal notch windows
-
Utilizes M-Mode, color flow Doppler, pulsed and continuous-wave Doppler, and contrast echocardiography techniques as needed
-
Evaluates ventricular systolic and diastolic function and documents wall motion abnormalities
-
Recognizes congenital heart malformations and acquired cardiac pathologies
-
Correlates clinical history with exam findings and consults with cardiologists as needed
-
Communicates results and findings to cardiologists in a timely manner
-
Maintains monthly correlation studies and statistics
-
Troubleshoots and reports equipment issues
-
Completes quarterly competencies in stress lab, holter monitoring, and event monitoring
-
Demonstrates proficiency in pediatric echocardiogram imaging and patient care
-
RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract

Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
