Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Retail Sales & Embroidery Machine Operator to join our team. This unique hybrid role bridges the gap between production and customer experience. You will split your time between operating commercial embroidery machinery to customize apparel and working directly on the sales floor to assist customers, answer inquiries, and manage retail transactions. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for hands-on crafting, strong technical focus, and a welcoming customer-first attitude.
Embroidery & Production Operations:
- Machine Operation: Set up, thread, and monitor commercial single or multi-head embroidery machines.
- Job Preparation: Hoop garments and various soft goods accurately to ensure exact alignment.
- Material Selection: Identify and back products with the correct stabilizers, backings, and thread colors.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed products to check for stitch quality, tension accuracy, and overall neatness.
- Maintenance: Perform basic troubleshooting and routine daily machine maintenance like oiling and cleaning.
Retail Sales & Customer Experience:
- Customer Service: Welcome customers into the store, assist them with design choices, and consult on personalization options.
- Order Management: Intake custom orders, quote turnaround timelines, and input customer data into the point-of-sale system.
- Sales Floor Support: Maintain store visual standards, restock merchandise, and process checkout transactions.
- Communication: Coordinate with patrons regarding design updates, order pickups, or required project adjustments.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: No experience is neccesary but is preferred.
- Retail Background: Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or hospitality is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency; experience with embroidery digitizing or vector software is a major plus.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional eye for alignment, color matching, and catching production defects early.
- Adaptability: Ability to shift quickly between focused technical work and client-facing service in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move around the production and sales floor for prolonged periods.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for threading needles and precise garment hooping.
- Ability to lift and handle boxes of merchandise weighing up to 30 lbs.
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
