Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead on-site construction activities for commercial, industrial, and senior-living projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for day-to-day field operations, coordination of subcontractors, schedule and quality control, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and within budget. The ideal candidate has strong experience in commercial and public works environments, is proficient with Microsoft Office tools, and brings a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to project delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring work is executed to project plans, specifications and quality standards.

Coordinate, schedule and supervise subcontractors and vendor work to optimize productivity and maintain project schedules.

Enforce and promote site safety programs and regulatory compliance, including daily safety briefings and incident reporting.

Review plans, submittals and RFIs with project management and field teams to resolve technical issues and clarify scope.

Monitor project progress and prepare daily/weekly reports, including manpower, equipment, material status and photo documentation.

Manage on-site inspections, punch lists and quality control procedures to achieve client satisfaction and closeout requirements.

Maintain effective communication with owners, architects, engineers and project managers to align expectations and resolve conflicts.

Control jobsite costs by monitoring labor productivity, material usage and subcontractor performance; identify opportunities for savings.

Ensure proper material handling, storage and site housekeeping to protect assets and maintain an orderly work environment.

Support procurement and logistics by verifying deliveries, tracking inventory and coordinating material staging.

Adapt schedules and resources in response to unforeseen conditions, site constraints and change orders to minimize delays.

Mentor and coach field staff to build a high-performing, safety-focused construction team.
Qualifications

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar field leadership role on commercial or industrial projects; public works and senior-living experience preferred.

Proven track record managing subcontractors and multiple trades on medium- to large-scale construction projects.

Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, reading blueprints, specifications and construction documents.

Demonstrated experience with commercial construction types including hospitality, industrial and senior living projects a plus.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience using construction management software or scheduling tools.

Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and experience implementing site safety programs; OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across stakeholders.

Ability to manage schedules, budgets and field documentation; experience preparing daily reports and tracking productivity.

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation; ability to travel between project sites as required.

Trade background, technical degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Construction Management, PMP) are advantageous.
