Position Summary:
The Logistics Lead is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound freight, carrier relationships, and shipment scheduling to ensure the efficient flow of goods through the warehouse. This role oversees shipping and receiving activities, tracks freight costs and carrier performance, resolves delivery and routing issues, and leads the logistics team in day-to-day execution. The Logistics Lead works closely with the Procurement & Logistics Manager, warehouse staff, and outside carriers to ensure on-time delivery, accurate documentation, and compliance with shipping regulations, playing a key role in supporting overall supply chain performance.
Job Duties:
- Assist in coordinating inbound and outbound freight schedules with carriers to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
- Assist with daily shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and labeling.
- Assist in resolving delivery delays, routing issues, and freight claims in a timely manner.
- Ensure accurate bills of lading, packing lists, and customs or compliance documentation for shipments.
- Train and assist with assigning daily tasks to logistics and shipping/receiving staff.
- Maintain relationships with carriers and freight brokers, and support rate negotiations as needed.
- Support the Procurement & Logistics Manager with logistics reporting, cost tracking, and process improvement initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
- Computer literacy required, including intermediate skills in MS applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PPT, etc.) and shipping/transportation management software.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve shipping and carrier issues quickly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, and eager to succeed.
Qualifications:
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of logistics, shipping/receiving, or transportation coordination experience, including experience directing the work of others.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Familiarity with freight carriers, bills of lading, and shipping documentation preferred.
Travel Expectations:
- No regular travel required; occasional local travel to carrier or vendor sites may be necessary
- Clean driving record

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
