Orthopedic Practice- Long Beach, CA
Overview: We are a busy orthopedic practice that has an immediate, part-time or full-time position for a license technician (limited or full) in our X-Ray department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and instruct patients for radiological procedures and perform X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- Protect patients, self and staff from radiation exposure by practicing sound procedures which meet or exceed recommended industry standards and following the prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
- Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain examination rooms. Stock necessary office and radiological supplies.
- Work closely with the physician to receive guidance and instruction for treating patients, and aiding the physician with various procedures as needed.
- Maintain appropriate communication and good interpersonal skills with supervisors, staff and patients to ensure coordinated efforts and provision of high quality service.
- Respect and strictly maintain the patients' right to privacy and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate support to co-workers by offering help.
- Perform related work and related administrative duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to perform X-ray testing.
- Knowledge of medical practice and organizational policies to administer patient care.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations and to work under high pressure situations.
- Good telephone manners and etiquette.
- Flexibility in working hours to handle variation in the inflow of patients and cover the needs of the department.
- Must be in good physical condition, with the ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced work environment.
EXPERIENCE
- One year of working experience as a radiologic technologist preferred.
- Experience in an orthopedic and/or trauma radiology department is desirable.
- Experience with EMR, EPIC is a plus
