Job Summary
Artisan Chef is seeking a 1st Grade or 2nd Grade Boiler Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and monitoring of boiler systems and plant utilities that support food production. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with safety regulations, preventive maintenance programs, and food manufacturing standards while minimizing equipment downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Operate, monitor, and maintain high-pressure boiler systems and associated plant utilities, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on boilers, steam systems, pumps, valves, compressors, and related utility equipment.
Monitor and maintain plant utility systems, including steam, hot water, compressed air, HVAC, and water treatment systems to support continuous production.
Maintain accurate operating logs, maintenance records, and boiler documentation while ensuring compliance with state regulations and company procedures.
Respond promptly to equipment alarms, system failures, and emergency situations to minimize production downtime.
Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams to support manufacturing schedules and ensure uninterrupted utility services.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, food safety standards (GMP), and environmental requirements while maintaining a safe work environment.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, equipment reliability programs, and plant shutdown/start-up activities.
Required Qualifications
Valid Massachusetts 1st Grade or 2nd Grade Stationary Engineer/Boiler Operator License (or equivalent state certification).
3–5 years of experience operating and maintaining industrial boiler systems, preferably in a food manufacturing or food processing environment.
Strong knowledge of steam generation systems, HVAC, compressed air systems, pumps, valves, and water treatment.
Experience with preventive maintenance programs and equipment troubleshooting.
Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS preferred).
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, or overtime as required.
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
