Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fire & Water Restoration Technician to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Respond swiftly to emergency calls for fire, water, flood, mold, and asbestos-related incidents, providing immediate assessment and action.
- Perform cleaning, demolition, and debris removal using hand tools and power tools to prepare affected areas for restoration.
- Execute fire restoration processes including soot removal, odor control, and structural cleaning to restore property integrity.
- Conduct water damage restoration tasks such as water extraction, drying, dehumidification, and mold remediation to prevent further damage.
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly while adhering to all safety protocols and PPE requirements during on-site operations.
- Utilize Xactimate software for accurate damage assessment estimates and documentation of restoration work.
- Follow strict safety protocols including respiratory protection and PPE use to ensure personal safety and compliance with industry standards.
- Assist with asbestos abatement procedures when necessary, ensuring proper handling and disposal in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including shift reports, incident documentation, and client communications.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients throughout the restoration process and addressing their concerns professionally.
Skills
- Emergency response readiness with the ability to act quickly under pressure in high-stakes situations.
- Strong knowledge of fire restoration techniques including soot removal, odor control, and structural cleaning.
- Expertise in flood and water damage restoration methods such as water extraction, drying equipment operation, and mold remediation.
- Construction experience is highly desirable for demolition, repair work, and project completion.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, carpet cleaning equipment, Xactimate software, and other industry-standard tools.
- Familiarity with safety protocols including PPE use, respiratory protection measures, and asbestos abatement procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients during stressful situations.
- Ability to operate company vehicles safely while maintaining a clean driving record.
- On-call coverage availability to respond promptly outside regular working hours when emergencies arise.
