Field Clinical Engineer

VisCardia Inc., located in Portland, Oregon, is an innovative medical device company dedicated to developing therapies for chronic heart failure. The company has pioneered the VisOne implantable system, which uses Synchronized Diaphragmatic Stimulation (SDS) to improve cardiac hemodynamics. By generating precise intrathoracic pulses synchronized to cardiac activity, VisCardia aims to improve patient outcomes and advance heart failure treatment technologies.
Role Description
· This is a full-time, on-site role for a Remote Field Clinical Engineer. The Field Clinical Engineer will be responsible for providing clinical and technical expertise during device implementation and management.
· Daily tasks include supporting operating room procedures, collaborating with research and development teams, and working closely with medical professionals to optimize treatment utilizing the VisOne system.
· This individual will assist in training healthcare providers on effective system use to ensure optimal patient outcomes
· Supports assigned clinical sites during study start-up activities, site initiation visits, and patient follow-up visits.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years field travel experience.
- 3-5 years’ experience in Biomedical Engineering, Cardiology, or related fields
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D) and clinical collaborations
- Experienced supporting Site Initiation Visits and conducting Surgeon training
- Expertise in operating room protocols and familiarity with medical procedures
- Surgical and/or OR support experience as a field clinical engineer, technical representative, technology trainer, or clinical trainer in the medical device field
- Understanding of medical devices and technologies, particularly in chronic heart failure treatment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to travel 50% -70% as necessary to support clinical trials and medical training sessions
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology, or a related discipline
- Ability to meet hospital credentialing requirements for supporting surgeries
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and training skills
- Previous experience in Cardiac and medical device industry
