Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time, dedicated and compassionate Activities Assistant to enrich the lives of residents in our senior living community. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for engaging and supporting older adults, with experience in event planning, recreational therapy, and providing meaningful activities tailored to individual needs. As an Activities Assistant, you will coordinate and facilitate diverse recreational programs that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being, ensuring a vibrant and inclusive environment for all residents.
Hours: 830 am -5 pm
Duties
- Plan, organize, and execute engaging activities and events that cater to the interests and abilities of residents, including those with dementia or memory impairments.
- Assist with daily living activities (ADLs) such as mobility, grooming, and personal care to support residents’ independence and comfort.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to develop personalized activity plans that address individual health conditions and preferences.
- Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced mix of social, educational, and recreational opportunities.
- Foster a warm, inclusive atmosphere by encouraging participation and social interaction among residents.
- Support residents in maintaining connections with their families and the community through special events or outings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and progress in activities programs.
- Stay informed about aging issues, dementia care strategies, and best practices in senior care to enhance program effectiveness.
Skills
- Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or long-term care settings.
- Strong background in recreational therapy, memory care, or Alzheimer’s/dementia care.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate caregiving support.
- Skilled in schedule management to coordinate multiple activities seamlessly.
- Knowledge of aging issues counseling, social work principles, and working with individuals with disabilities.
- Experience in home & community care environments is advantageous.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
