The Instructional Specialist provides direct academic support and educational technology assistance to students through individual and small-group tutoring. The ideal candidate is student-centered, collaborative, organized, and passionate about helping students succeed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small-group academic support to students in assigned subject areas, with preference given to mathematics or English.
- Assist students with educational technology, digital textbooks and courseware, tutoring platforms, assistive technology, and other instructional technologies.
- Troubleshoot common technology and courseware issues and connect students with additional support resources as needed.
- Assist with the daily operations of the Tutoring Center, including helping maintain tutor schedules, supporting service coverage, and ensuring a welcoming learning environment.
- Serve as a resource for peer and student tutors by sharing tutoring strategies, answering questions, and assisting with orientation and ongoing support.
- Assist with workshops, outreach activities, and campus communication related to academic success strategies to increase student awareness and utilization of tutoring services.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging educational technologies, digital tools, and student support practices and recommend opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Support the development and management of student academic resources.
- Maintain tutoring records and assist with collecting usage and participation data.
This is a full-time, grade 6, administrative position with an annual salary of $49,728. Benefits include health, dental, long-term disability and group life insurance, retirement, tuition waiver, paid vacation, sick leave and holidays.
