Excavation Superintendent
$95,000–$125,000 annual
MD Dirt is seeking an experienced Excavation Superintendent to lead civil construction and excavation projects throughout North Texas. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing excavation operations, utility installations, grading, drainage improvements, and site development projects. This individual must be able to independently oversee field operations, manage crews and subcontractors, coordinate schedules, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plan.
Minimum Requirements (Must Have):
- 10+ years of excavation experience
- Extensive civil construction experience
- Proficiency with Topcon GPS machine control systems
- Experience reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications
- Experience managing field crews and subcontractors
- Strong knowledge of earthwork, grading, drainage, and utility installation
- Valid driver's license
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily field operations on excavation and civil construction projects
- Manage excavation, grading, utility, and drainage activities
- Coordinate crews, equipment, and subcontractors
- Utilize Topcon GPS systems to ensure accurate project execution
- Review plans, grades, elevations, and project specifications
- Conduct safety meetings and enforce company safety standards
- Maintain project schedules and productivity goals
- Communicate project status and field issues with management
- Ensure quality control and compliance with project requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience with storm drainage systems and culvert installation
- Experience with municipal, commercial, and site development projects
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
