Civil/Water Resources Engineer

Position Overview
As a Civil/Water Resources Engineer, you will perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, dam safety assessment, design, compliance, and rehabilitation, water utility infrastructure and stormwater facilities design, stream restoration design, and conduct floodplain and drainage studies. You will perform H&H modeling, engineering calculations and produce engineering drawings on a variety of water resources related projects. You will interact with clients, contractors, and local government officials. You will impact the whole project from conceptual and design phases through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Preconstruction Team with Design/Build delivery of civil/water resources infrastructure projects from planning through construction.
- Support the design and assessment of dam safety engineering, stream restoration, stormwater management, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, pumping infrastructure, and floodplain management.
- Perform hydraulic modeling, system evaluations, and engineering analysis.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client engagement, and identifying new opportunities.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, grading, underground utilities, paving, site concrete, and other miscellaneous site and water resources infrastructure.
- Analyze Civil + A/S/M/E/P drawings, bid packages, front end documents, bid forms, project specifications, environmental, and geotechnical reports to identify scope gaps and potential risks.
- Facilitate smooth project handoffs to operational teams and project managers post-award.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Minimum of 3–5 years of dedicated water resources projects in one or more of the following areas: hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater management and compliance, dam safety engineering, water utility infrastructure design, stream restoration.
- Engineering in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred.
- Site/Civil development design and construction inspection experience is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS or other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software.
- Civil Estimating , digital takeoff and estimating software (e.g., B2W, Bluebeam, Insite Elevation, or AGTEK) and Microsoft Excel.
- Blueprint Competency: Expert ability to read and interpret complex civil/water resources engineering drawings and specifications.
- Communication: Strong negotiation skills, professional verbal/written communication for client and vendor interactions, and professional report writing.
- Compliance: Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a routine pre-employment screening.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
