Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Worker to uphold the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall hygiene standards of our facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and experience in environmental services or custodial roles within healthcare or commercial settings. The Housekeeping Worker plays a vital role in ensuring that all areas are maintained according to health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and that the environment remains pristine and sanitary at all times.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties across various areas including patient rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
- Ensure all surfaces are sanitized thoroughly in accordance with sanitation protocols and OSHA guidelines to prevent contamination and promote health safety.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to supervisory staff.
- Follow established procedures for waste disposal, including handling biohazardous materials when necessary, to ensure environmental safety.
- Operate floor care equipment such as buffers and vacuums to maintain clean and safe flooring surfaces.
- Restock supplies regularly in designated areas to ensure availability of cleaning products, linens, and other essentials.
- Adhere strictly to environmental services standards for infection control and workplace safety while performing daily tasks.
Experience
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience in healthcare facilities or commercial environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to workplace safety and chemical handling is required.
- Experience with hospital or healthcare cleaning protocols is advantageous for understanding specialized sanitation needs.
- Knowledge of environmental services practices including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Proven ability to perform floor care tasks such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
