Here's what you'll do:
As a Cashier, you are responsible for encompassing our goal of providing each guest with exceptional customer service and high-quality products that deliver an authentic Baja experience.
- Must enjoy working with people; greet guests with a warm and friendly smile and make them feel welcome.
- Accepts payment in the form of cash, checks, and credit or debit cards for purchases.
- Ensures guests are served their complete order quickly, efficiently and in a pleasant manner.
- Demonstrates knowledge of all menu items and improves the customer experience.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and provides genuine recommendations guests will enjoy.
- Confidently requests customer reviews.
- Ability to respond to guest inquiries and concerns in a friendly and courteous manner while providing accurate information.
- Prepares and serves beverages and food items consistently by adhering to all recipe standards, while also delivering friendly customer service.
- Assist with setup, restaurant cleanup, stock work and handling of food items.
- Ensures accurate transactions by balancing cash register at the beginning and end of shift; adheres to company standards.
- Processes returns according to policy.
- Identifies prices of products and services and tabulates customer orders with available equipment or manually when necessary.
- Bag, box, pour and wrap food items.
- Interact with co-workers in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good verbal communication skills. Ability to speak and read English is required (second language a plus). Ability to speak effectively with external customers is required.
- Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, scanners, etc.
- Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
- Experience entering orders into a Point-Of-Sales (POS) system and manually is preferred.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A food handler’s certificate as required by local and state regulations.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training.
- One-year experience working in a restaurant or in customer service preferred.
Certifications:
CA Food Handler's Card
CA Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and working on cash register or other equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Will need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
Pay: $17.28 - $17.50 per hour
