Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital link between our customers and the service department, ensuring that all service needs are accurately communicated and addressed. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge and excellent communication skills, as you will be responsible for understanding customer concerns, providing estimates, and coordinating with technicians to ensure timely service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assess their automotive service needs.
- Document customer concerns and vehicle issues accurately.
- Provide detailed estimates for services required, including parts and labor.
- Coordinate with service technicians to ensure efficient workflow and timely repairs.
- Maintain clear communication with customers regarding the status of their vehicles.
- Process service orders and invoices in a timely manner.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any further concerns.
- Stay updated on automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repair, and dealership practices.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive service management preferred.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, including air brake systems and shocks/struts.
- Previous experience as a mechanic or service technician is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A background in dealership operations is a plus but not mandatory.
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and support.
