The Class A Semi Driver drives a semi-tractor/trailer locally to deliver recyclable material and non-hazardous waste material from the transfer station to various disposal sites.
Responsibilities
- Complete all paperwork and forms as required by company policies and DOT regulations
- Drive a CMV up to legal limits allowed (as regulated by DOT) and may require Saturday work
- Responsible for the safe operation of the truck including pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Communicate professionally with customers and report any customer issues / complaints to appropriate internal contacts
- Ensure truck cab and body are clean
- Maintain compliance with all applicable company and governmental regulations
- Assist in loading and unloading the trailer
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills
- Valid Class A CDL with airbrakes endorsement
- One (1) year of experience within the past two (2) years in a CMV (Commercial Motor Vehicle) with a GVWR of over 26,001 pounds
- Experience with hydraulic systems
- Experience with a manual transmission
- Must be 25 years of age or older (per DOT requirements)
- Must be able to read and write English (per DOT requirements)
- Successfully pass pre-employment background investigation, drug screen, motor vehicle records check, DOT physical and human performance examination
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to get in and out of the truck repeatedly throughout the workday

Pay: $136.00 - $408.00 per day
